IT Leader Prize Award Ceremony

April 18, 2007: The Fifth Annual National IT Leader Prize Award Ceremony was held at Mir Concert Hall for a total of approximately 400 IT industry representatives.

26 businesses and public authorities representing key Russian industries were awarded with the IT Leader Prize for the implementation of prominent IT projects and the advancement of cutting-edge information technology that increases business efficiency and spurs development across the Russian nation. In 2007, retailers, investment and financial institutions, developers and construction materials manufacturers joined traditional, vertically-oriented consumers of high technology. New nominations were added based on mass media monitoring during the previous year: its analysis revealed that more industries were actively implementing information technology in order to improve their business efficiency.

IT Leader Prize Award Ceremony

The IT Leader Prize winners were selected by the Expert Council comprised of the directors of Russian offices of leading global IT vendors, representatives from reputable mass media, and industry experts: Olga Dergunova, Chairwoman, Microsoft Russia and CIS; Kirill Korniliev, Country General Manager, IBM East Europe/Asia; Eduard Proidakov, Editing Director of IT, SK Press Publishing House; Robert Farish, Vice President and Regional Director for Russia and CIS, IDC; Gennady Ruderman, Director of Algorithm Information Agency, IT-daily Editor-in-Chief; Mikhail Rumyantsev, Editor-in-Chief, CIO Magazine, and Mikhail Zyryanov, Editor-in-Chief, Information Service Director Magazine. Compliance of voting with approved expert survey methodology was monitored by KPMG, IT Leader Prize Independent Observer.

Key selection criteria for IT Leader Prize winners are: innovative activities by organizations and their CIOs, outstanding IT achievements, CIO's unique personal and professional characteristics, and his/her personal contribution to the development of the business, the industry, and the Russian nation in general.

Every year, the Organizing Committee endeavors to make the Prize more public and transparent. The establishment of the Prize Advisory Council was an important move. The Advisory Council includes the directors of Russia's largest CIO clubs in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, and Ekaterinburg. The Prize Advisory Council shall provide advisory assistance to the Expert Council in clearing up complicated matters of procedure.

The IT Leader Prize was established in 2002 by CROC incorporated, Intelligent Enterprise Magazine, and RosBusinessConsulting Group. In 2005, the Russian Managers Association, and, in 2006, Itogi and CIO Magazines joined the Organizing Committee. The Partners of the IT Leader Prize 2006 were: IBM, HP, EMC, Sun Microsystems, Polycom, Microsoft, Dell, and Avaya. For the second year in a row, PRP Group has been the Public Coordinator of the Prize responsible for IT Leader Prize reputation maintenance and coordination of all communications within the project.
