Matt Wood, Technology Evangelist for Amazon Web Services, will be a special guest at the IT Leader Forum 2011

24 August 2011

Matt Wood will deliver a presentation during the Discussion Session Three devoted to business growth in a cash flow deficit environment, reduction of business process maintenance expenses, and new IT budget optimization approaches (including clouds and outsourcing).

Today, we are seeing strong practical interest in cloud computing. However, some companies still avoid this technology so as not to depend on one particular cloud provider, or because financial benefits are unclear or due to the lack of large-scale experience in Russia. A frequent speaker at international conferences, a blogger and a published author, Matt Wood will focus on technical and business aspects of cloud computing and share international companies' hands-on experience. Matt Wood has been educating customers on this topic for several years. He mentors start-ups and coaches developers and project teams throughout Europe.

Before joining Amazon, Matt Wood worked in the field of life sciences and built web-scale search engines at Cornell University, sequenced DNA in Hinxton and developed analytics software in Cambridge., Inc., a Fortune 500 company based in Seattle, opened on the World Wide Web in July 1995 and today offers Earth's Biggest Selection., Inc. seeks to be Earth's most customer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online, and endeavors to offer its customers the lowest possible prices. Since early 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has provided companies of all sizes with an infrastructure web services platform in the cloud. With AWS customers can requisition compute power, storage, and other services—gaining access to a suite of elastic IT infrastructure services as business demands them. With AWS customers have the flexibility to choose whichever development platform or programming model makes the most sense for the problems they’re trying to solve. Customers pay only for what they use, with no up-front expenses or long-term commitments, which makes AWS the most cost-effective way to deliver application to the clients. And, with AWS, customers can take advantage of Amazon.coms global computing infrastructure that is the backbone of Amazon.coms multi-billion retail business and transactional enterprise whose scalable, reliable, and secure distributed computing infrastructure has been honed for over a decade.

Organizers of the IT Leader Forum are the Russian Managers Association, Itogi, CIO, and Intelligent Enterprise Magazines and CROC.
