The 16th Annual National IT Leader Prize award ceremony was held on April 24 in Moscow. This year, the event was based on a Drive Your Digital Future concept to promote IT process digitalization and transformation. Companies and CIOs behind some of the most high-profile IT and Digital project implementations took part in the award ceremony at the St. Regis Moscow hotel.
The IT Leader Prize has been held since 2002 with the aim of drawing the attention of the professional community to the new digital era and the most successful and cutting-edge IT projects. This year, the IT Leader Prize winner list includes Pervyi OFD Fiscal Data Operator, the State Hermitage Museum, IT Department of Moscow, Russian Railway Guard Force, Agency for IT and Communication of the Sakhalin Region, HeadHunter’s Academy, Rossiisky Capital Bank, MTS Bank, OTP Bank, Ingosstrakh, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), Norilsk Nickel, Bashneft, Т Plus, Locotech, Rostelecom, DPD, M.video, Avon, Mars, PhosAgro, and Gett. In 2018, winners in 21 categories were selected by an open online vote on the IT Leader website from March 27 to April 24.
“In the era of massive digital transformation, the success of any business strongly depends on its readiness to adopt new ideas and management approaches. Today, we are happy to honor digital leaders in core industries and the Digital Superstar winner, and recognize companies’ commitment to using the opportunities offered by digital transformation. Digitalization of even simple processes can significantly improve business efficiency and change an entire industry,” said Sergey Makedonsky, Chairman of the Prize Expert Council.
“Digital transformation is spreading all over the world. The IT Leader Prize is one of the year’s landmark IT events. As a co-organizer, we see how IT needs are changing year by year. Unlike past winners, which were large-scale projects of “heavy” infrastructure solutions, this year’s winners are companies that succeeded through the use of flexible cloud-based digital services,” commented Boris Bobrovnikov, Director General, CROC.
In 2018, the IT Leader Prize featured the Digital Superstar - a totally new special category. In this new class, the main prize was awarded to Gett for its transportation service digitalization project. The Gett RU service development allows for 24/7 use of digital payments and mobile apps, passenger pickup in 3+ minutes, and online tracking of goods delivery and courier movement. Gett RU implemented the innovative idea of network connectivity without any mediators. The new Digital Superstar category winner was selected by the IT Leader Prize Expert Council, which comprises representatives of leading IT companies and technology mass media.
“The world continues to change rapidly, with new technologies impacting our habits, needs, and lifestyles. Digitalization has had a major influence on both the hi-tech sector and daily life, offering customers new ways to make purchases, book flights and rooms, and solve logistical tasks. We are grateful to the IT Leader Prize organizers for this prestigious award and will continue along our path towards digitalization,” commented Dmitry Ryzhov, Marketing Director, Gett.
“I’m happy that the experts on the prestigious IT Leader Prize panel have shown their appreciation for the efforts of Pervyi OFD Fiscal Data Operator. Our versatile scalable open-source platform supports intensive loads and eases the lives of our customers, who are required to submit fiscal data to the Federal Tax Service via a fiscal data operator. It turns out that government initiatives do not necessarily have to be incomprehensible, inconvenient, and expensive. I thank our 110,000+ customers and partners across Russia for preferring us in this highly competitive market and contributing to our joint success,” said Alexander Emelin, Director General, Pervyi OFD Fiscal Data Operator.
“The Annual National IT Leader Prize helps identify key IT development vectors and, equally importantly, shows us that we are headed in the right direction. The responsible and cohesive efforts of the organizers and expert council have significantly strengthened the reputation of the prize. We greatly appreciate the fact that participation in this high-profile contest has helped increase recognition of the efforts of our IT department. I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of both myself and PhosAgro IT department, to thank the organizers and expert community for showing their appreciation of our efforts, greet attendees and winners, and wish us good luck in meeting our future goals and plans,” said Sergey Didenko, IT Director, Apatit, a PhosAgro company.
“Today, uninterrupted and coordinated IT system operation is a cornerstone of the success of any business. Even things that are invisible to customers can influence perception of a brand. In order to comply with Russian Federation legislation, Avon moved its user data to a resilient geographically distributed Tier III certified data center. We are grateful to the IT Leader Prize organizers for recognizing the success of our project,” noted Alexander Prokusov, Manager for Infrastructure, Avon.
In addition to prize winners, the event was also attended by representatives of leading vendors of digitalization solutions, such as Cisco, Kaspersky Lab, Dell EMC, and YCD.
